11 teams to vie for BBQ trophies and prizes
(Tumon, Guam) — The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) announced at a July 3rd press conference the lineup of BBQ competitors and events scheduled for the 6th Annual Pleasure Island Guam BBQ Block Party on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Pleasure Island, Tumon.
The BBQ Block Party is an annual GVB signature event that closes San Vitores Road in Pleasure Island, between T Galleria by DFS and The Plaza Shopping Center, for a pedestrian-only event filled with Guam’s biggest BBQ competition, live entertainment, activities for the family, food and beverage vendors, shopping and more! As with all GVB events, BBQ Block Party is open to the public, and admission is free.
“Each year, we look forward to showcasing our unique barbecue culture and our warm Håfa Adai spirit to the world through the Pleasure Island Guam BBQ Block Party,” said GVB Acting President and CEO Tony Muña. “What makes this event so much fun is that residents and visitors gather together on the street in Pleasure Island for one of Guam’s best events. We are proud of how the BBQ Block Party has grown each year, and the competition will be fierce as usual. We invite everyone to join us in Tumon on July 7th!”
