GVB launches #InstaGuam theme for Visit Guam 2018 campaign

(Tumon, Guam) The Guam Visitors Bureau is proud to announce the launch of its new Visit Guam 2018 campaign. With powder sand beaches, striking sunsets, and stunning vistas, Guam is the perfect instant vacation destination to make moments and memories that can be shared on social media. This is all part of the exciting Visit Guam 2018 theme of “#InstaGuam.”

“The momentum of this new campaign follows the success of our ‘Only on Guam’ and ‘Year of Love’ campaigns and really takes elements that worked well to propel us forward in promoting our island paradise,” said GVB President and CEO Nathan Denight. The new #InstaGuam theme promotes Guam as an instant destination from major cities in this region while encouraging local residents and visitors to create their own story-driven content through the power of social media. We want to see even more photos and videos of people experiencing our island home that can be shared with the world.”

What’s ahead

Unique one-of-a-kind experiences that can be found only on Guam will still continue to be pushed to generate new content, with GVB creating incentives and highlighting points of interest for local residents and visitors alike.

In the months to come, look for future art installations and #InstaGuam camera icons around the island, including Ypao Beach, Two Lovers Point, and Inarajan Pools.

GVB will also be developing an “#InstaGuam Moment” program for people to win instant prizes simply by posting about designated businesses or establishments and sharing it with them to redeem their prize or offer. More details will be announced soon.

2018 Guamazing Fireworks Photo Contest

The Bureau will continue its weekly contest for people to win $100 cash for submitting their best #instaGuam photo or video. Currently, GVB is encouraging those that attended the New Year’s Eve 2018 #Guamazing Fireworks Show to upload their best fireworks photo to for a chance to win $100. Last day for submission is January 15, 2018. GVB will choose its top 5 favorite photos and the public will vote for the final winner via its VisitGuam Facebook page. The final winner will be announced on January 24, 2018.

Rise of social media influencers

Additionally, GVB is expanding its social media circle this year by seeking out brand ambassadors, who will be called “InstaGuammers.” These social media influencers will create their own unique content about Guam and have all-access media passes to GVB signature events. They will also connect with their international counterparts at these events, bringing together a community of island ambassadors that are ready to share what they love about Guam.
