GVB launches Give Us A Moment, Together

June 23, 2020

(Tumon, Guam) – The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) has released the second video in the “Give Us A Moment #GUAM” series that asks the world to Give Us A Moment (#GUAM), Together.

The video serves as a call to action for Guam residents to join in the spirit of inafa’maolek (to make good together) with the industry in preparing to welcome visitors back to Guam’s shores. GVB is calling for all residents and businesses to ignite their island pride and Håfa Adai spirit to improve the appearance and cleanliness of the Guam product. GVB gives special thanks to Auntie Natty and her great-grandson Knox, for being the voices of the video and sharing the message of inafa’maolek. GVB would also like to thank COVID-19 survivor Nadea and family for sharing their story of hope. This reminds us that as a community that we can get through this global pandemic together.

The first Give Us A Moment video featured the island at a standstill and encouraged residents and friends across the world to stay home and stay safe. Since then, Guam has been able to slowly recover from the global pandemic, and island residents are beginning to move again. On the heels of a successful launch of the first video locally and internationally, the second video illustrates from land and sea how the island of Guam is moving once again. Behind the scenes, the tourism industry has also been hard at work preparing and gearing up to welcome visitors back to our island.

“As we navigate through this new normal and travel restrictions begin to ease, GVB wants to ensure Guam continues to be at the forefront of the future of travel among our source markets and to guide our community in sharing the message that Guam is ready to welcome visitors once again with our warm Håfa Adai spirit and hospitality,” said GVB President and CEO Carl T.C. Gutierrez. “This is our opportunity to continue to show that we are in this together. We must all do our part and continue to be diligent in our hand washing, social distancing, and other safety measures.”

The video is posted on all of Guam’s social media platforms. GVB encourages residents and visitors alike to continue sharing their favorite Guam moments online by tagging GVB and using the hashtags #GUAM and #instaGuam. Industry stakeholders can also send content to GVB to share online by emailing photos and videos to [email protected]
