PLEASURE ISLAND 3rd ANNUAL GUAM BBQ BLOCK PARTY RESCHEDULED TO JULY 18th

Enjoy fun, food and family at this Liberation Celebration

(Tumon, Guam) The third annual Pleasure Island Guam BBQ Block Party has been rescheduled and returns to Tumon in celebration of Guam’s Liberation on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

With mouthwatering barbecue cuisine, the aroma of this incredible culinary and cultural event is sure to bring the local community together and enrich Guam's visitor experience! The GVB signature event will showcase Guam’s unique BBQ styles with various cuisines and local delicacies, along with different food vendors and local goods from artisans throughout the island. Additionally, live art, music and entertainment will be featured at the block party of the summer.

The Micronesian Chefs' Association has also partnered with GVB for the highlighted BBQ competition between local and international teams, with over $4,000 in prize money up for grabs. GVB has confirmed the participation of two international chefs from Korea and Taiwan, who will compete with several local teams to include 2014 BBQ Block Party Champion Grillmasters, Asu Smokehouse. Delicious BBQ from the competitors will be available to sample and for purchase at the block party.

This event is free and open to the public. Event organizers expect thousands of participants will turn out for this event, in addition to global media representatives generating millions in exposure for Guam.

Road Closure Notice

San Vitores Road in Tumon from the crosswalk between UnderWater World and T-Galleria by DFS to the traffic light in front of the entrance to SandCastle will be closed on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 3:00 a.m, to ensure safety of event participants.
