The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) successfully concluded the “One Guam Roadshow 2026,” drawing increased participation in Tokyo on January 19, Nagoya on January 20, and Osaka on January 21, officially launching its 2026 initiatives for the Japan market.
The mission commenced on January 19 with a signing ceremony at the JTB headquarters in Tokyo, where GVB, JTB, and T.P. Micronesia formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further strengthen collaborative efforts in promoting Guam. The agreement reinforces long-standing partnerships and outlines joint initiatives aimed at driving sustainable growth and new product development in the Japan market. This MOU further elevates Guam’s positioning within JTB’s outbound strategy, where Guam has been designated as a top priority destination. The strengthened alignment ensures a more focused promotional effort and deeper market penetration at a critical stage of Japan’s outbound recovery.
Seminars were conducted in all three cities — Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka — where GVB presented its Marketing and Trade initiatives for fiscal year 2026. Also presented were the GOGO! Guam Hafa Adai campaign featuring the Guam Pay and Guam Bonus programs, along with the new Educational Group and Airline Charter support programs. These latest programs were developed to more aggressively market Guam in Japan. With Japanese outbound travel continuing to gain positive momentum, the roadshow drew strong engagement from travel trade partners.
In Tokyo and Nagoya, Japanese celebrity and Ko’Ko’ Road Race Ambassador Shinji Takeda joined the program to share the appeal of the Ko’Ko’ Road Race while sharing his experience at the Guam International Dance Festival, generating strong enthusiasm among attendees.
In Osaka, the seminar was followed by the New Year Appreciation Reception, which featured dynamic stage promotions in collaboration with FM Osaka. Radio personality Yumi Akamatsu and popular comedian Galop energized the audience while promoting the Ko’Ko’ Road Race and Japan Festival in Guam. FM Osaka will continue promotional broadcasts for the Ko’Ko’ Road Race through April, extending exposure throughout the Kansai region. Cultural performances were also showcased during the Osaka seminar and New Year Appreciation Reception by Guma Taotao Tåno’, led by Vince San Nicolas, highlighting the authenticity and richness of CHamoru culture.
The Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions served as a core component of the roadshow. Across the three cities, nearly 410 business meetings were conducted—approximately 180 in Tokyo, 80 in Nagoya, and nearly 150 in Osaka—facilitating concrete discussions on product development, packaging, and collaborative promotions between Guam suppliers and Japanese travel trade partners.
Twenty-two (22) GVB member companies participated in this year’s One Guam Road Show, including the Baldyga Group, Crowne Plaza Resort Guam, DON DON DONKI GUAM, Dusit Hotels, Fish Eye Marine Park, Hilton Guam Resort & Spa, Hotel Nikko Guam, Hyatt Regency Guam, Japan Airlines, LeoPalace Resort Guam, Lotte Hotel Guam, Pacific Island Holidays, RIHGA Royal Laguna Guam Resort, SONOFELICE CC Guam Mangilao, SONOFELICE CC Guam Talofofo, Stroll, The Tsubaki Tower, The Westin Resort Guam, TripCoupon, Triple J Rentals (Guam) Inc., t’way, and United Airlines.
GVB President & CEO Régine Biscoe Lee expressed appreciation to the participating members, stating: “I would like to sincerely thank all the Guam partners who traveled to Japan and demonstrated their strong commitment to rebuilding and expanding our presence in this important market. The level of engagement and confidence shown during this roadshow reflects our shared belief in the long-term potential of the Japan market. Together, we are positioning Guam for sustainable growth.”
GVB Board Director and Japan Marketing Committee Chairman Ken Yanagisawa underscored the commercial significance of the renewed engagement, emphasizing that the strong business-to-business (B2B) activity signals growing confidence among private-sector partners and highlights meaningful opportunities for continued investment and product innovation.
Representing the hospitality sector, Hyatt Regency Guam General Manager Sophia Chu commented, “We are thankful for the opportunity to participate in the successful 2026 One Guam GVB Roadshow in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. Together, we can continue building Guam as a preferred destination for our feeder markets.”
The success of the One Guam Roadshow 2026 reaffirms GVB’s continued commitment to rebuilding and expanding Guam’s position as a preferred destination for Japanese travelers in FY26 and beyond.
